Team Yarn, we received the most lovely Thank You note on June 3, 2015:

Dear Amy and team yarn members.
I am a patient at the Abbott-Northwestern oncology clinic. Yesterday I was having my treatment and I noticed the knitted hats on display in the department. My sister and I looked at them and was impressed with the different styles, patterns, and colors that had been made. What a great and fantastic job. I chose one that fit so nice and the colors were in the green and purples. I am so happy with it and am sending my thanks for it. It was made by Lorraine Herges.
I never knew there was a knitting team that has taken on a project like that, and one that is so appreciated by patients that have complications from the chemo treatments.
Please give my thanks to all who are so talented in making these items, and God bless their hands and desires.
Sincerely,
Darlene D.

A package arrived on June 5, 2015 for Team Yarn from fellow team member, Ann Dolina. Ann turned her grief over her friend's suicide into a multitude of beautiful knitted hats to bring comfort to others. Thank you, Ann. We are so sorry for your loss.

It seems timely to let the Team know that we have been planning to donate hats to the silent auction at the Stomp Out Suicide 5K run/walk in Wyoming, MN this August 22nd.

56 items in May 2015

We had perfect weather for our meet-up in May, and so we spent it on the Silverwood patio. It was great to see everyone! In all, you donated 56 beautiful items -- which included 20 items that Kelli dropped by from Karen Aalund and her disabled students from Northeast Metro School District #916. (Read more about their handicrafters here.)

3 hats in the mail

We received these 3 lovely knit hats from Team Member Ann Dolina in March. They are so well made. Thank you, Ann!

60 items in April 2015

After a winter in warmer spots, Bernice returned in April with a bag full of hats and more! She was just in time to celebrate brother Brad's 60th birthday at the Team Yarn meeting. Sisters Linda and Kathy were also there to join with the rest of the Team Yarn handicrafters in wishing Brad a very happy birthday! Yes, there was cake!

Isn't this an inspired item? It's a hat and a scarf!
Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to Brad. Happy birthday to you!

We'll add this red, white and blue blanket to the stash we'll donate to the VA in November. This year we're asking people to get them done in October so that we can donate them around the Veteran's Day holiday on Nov. 11.
Apparently winters down south are very good for crocheting and knitting!

The NICU at the U of M Masonic Children's Hospital in Minneapolis was thrilled to get 22 tiny handmade hats from Team Yarn on Friday, April 3, 2015.

Alissa Schmitz was quite grateful on behalf of the NICU!

We also donated 23 children's hats to be used throughout the hospital. These we dropped with the folks at the front desk.
